Orchids, roses, gerbera daisies, carnations, irises, tuberoses, gardenias... The options are endless when it comes to giving the gift of flowers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Consider a plant or bouquet for a new home, a get-well present, to convey congratulations, wish a happy birthday, or say "thank you" or "I love you."

  2. Step 2

Think creatively. Send a bouquet or flowering plant or make a terrarium, planting basket, or herb basket.

  3. Step 3

Send fresh flowers the morning of an anticipated dinner party so the host can display them at the party.

  4. Step 4

Remember to enclose a written note.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some flowers have a traditional meaning: roses on Valentine's Day, daisies for cheer, carnations or lilies to offer condolences.
  • Men appreciate fresh plants and flowers, too.
  • Never send plastic flowers. If you want to go with artificial, opt for silk, beaded, glass or porcelain flowers.
  • Flowers say "I'm sorry" better than any other gift.

on 11/22/2005 Purchase a small book on flower language, and then send a copy of that book, along with the flowers that you have selected for their meanings, to him or her. It's romantic, thoughtful, and meaningful.
