How to Dress Your Child for Skiing

Layers are key to keeping warm when skiing. Water-resistant outer layers and moisture-wicking clothes close to the skin all combine to keep your child warmer.

Instructions

    • 1

Give your child a ski helmet to wear for protection. They are as warm as a good hat.

    • 2

Put mittens or over-mittens on your child. The type that have pull cinches around the wrist or forearm are best for keeping snow out.

    • 3

Give your child goggles or sunglasses to wear. They protect eyes from wind, cold and sun.

    • 4

Supply your child with long underwear and ski bibs. Bibs with suspenders keep pants from drooping and eventually filling with snow.

    • 5

Provide a jacket with water-resistant properties and a hood.

    • 6

Put on warm inner layers such as polypropelene and a wool sweater. Avoid using cotton if possible.

    • 7

Place wool socks on your child's feet.

Tips & Warnings
