The purpose of a lesson is to learn new skills. Your snowboard instructor should show patience and communicate effectively with the class.

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Ride the lift with your instructor.
Step2
Chat about goals you have for the lesson.
Step3
Find out what goals the instructor has for the class.
Step4
Ask for pointers when you need them.
Step5
Listen to tips the instructor offers to other students in the class.
Step6
Determine how many skills you picked up during the class. Did your instructor address questions you had?
Step7
Ask yourself if you enjoyed the time you spent in class.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you put more effort into a lesson, you're apt to learn more.
  • Listen to what the instructor says and, more importantly, watch how your instructor demonstrates skills.
