Step 1
Buy a first-aid kit and possibly some additional over-the-counter drugs and supplies for the medicine cabinet. These could include a pain reliever, anti-diarrheal medicine, cough syrup, antihistamine, adhesive bandage strips, antibiotic cream, antiseptic and tweezers.
-
Step 2
Put the necessary dental-hygiene products in the medicine cabinet, too: toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss and possibly mouthwash.
-
Step 3
Stock up on toilet tissue. You can never have too much.
-
Step 4
Plan on two to three sets of towels - a set being a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth - and possibly a few extra hand towels and several extra washcloths.
-
Step 5
Supply yourself with soap for the shower and sink, as well as shampoo and other hair-care products.
-
Step 6
Make sure you have bathroom cleaning supplies, such as a bathroom cleaner, a glass cleaner and an old toothbrush (great for grout and niches around faucets), plus a toilet brush and holder. Add a few cleaning rags, too.
-
Step 7
Toss in a washable bath rug or two.
-
Step 8
Buy a shower curtain and rings as well as a simple venetian blind or window curtain if they're not provided in the living quarters.
-
Step 9
Consider other toiletry and miscellaneous products based on your needs and habits: deodorant, bath/shower gel, hair dryer, shower cap, air freshener, nail-polish remover, hand mirror, feminine hygiene products, slip-proof shower/tub mat, etc.
