Instructions

  1. Preliminary

    • 1

Determine if the binding you are using fastens with a heel clamp or a toe clamp. Simply look at the binding and notice where the clamp is located.

    • 2

Slide your foot into the binding and try to clamp the binding to your boot.

    • 3

Notice if the cable/spring that wraps around your boot is too short to clamp down, too long so your foot slides around in the binding, or in between the two and just right.

    Heel-Clamp Binding

    • 4

Unhook the cable/spring on many models to adjust the binding. The end of the cable/spring is a hook connected to the toe piece and is easily removed.

    • 5

Twist the cable/spring clockwise to tighten the binding and counterclockwise to loosen the binding.

    • 6

Place the hook back in the toe piece.

    • 7

Put your foot in the binding and fasten the heel clamp.

    • 8

Make sure the binding is adjusted properly. You should feel a bit of resistance when trying to clamp the binding in place.

    Toe-Clamp Binding

    • 9

Flip the front toe piece up and look for a spring mechanism with a screwdriver slot on the underside.

    • 10

Place a flat-head screwdriver in the slot and twist it clockwise to shorten the cable, or counterclockwise to lengthen the cable.

    • 11

Place your foot in the binding, clamp the toe piece down and make sure the binding is adjusted properly to your boot.
