Step 1
Find a drop or jump with plenty of snow on the landing. Examples of suitable jumps are cornices and jumps that give you three to four feet of air.
-
Step 2
Lean forward just before taking off.
-
Step 3
Swing both hands out in front of you and down in an arc when you take off.
-
Step 4
Tuck your chin into your chest, swinging your feet up and around.
-
Step 5
Bend your knees up toward your body to rotate faster.
-
Step 6
Rotate all the way around and try to take a quick peek down at the ground to know when you'll land.
-
Step 7
Realize that skis will slow your flip's rotation because of their length, so be prepared take a longer time in the air to fully rotate.
-
Step 8
Land leaning forward with both hands away from your body. This will keep your poles from hitting your body.
