How to Toast Nuts
There are two ways to toast nuts - in the oven or in a skillet. Both methods work on the same principle: Use high heat and short cooking times to gently toast the outside of the nut and bring out its best flavor. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Make sure nuts are shelled and of uniform size.
-
2
Spread nuts in a single layer on a baking pan (one with walls is best) for toasting in the oven. Cook at 400 degrees F for 7 to 10 minutes or until the nuts start to turn golden. Shake the pan halfway through toasting.

-
3
Place nuts in a single layer for toasting in a skillet. With the skillet over medium-high heat, stir or shake the nuts continually for 5 to 7 minutes or until they start to turn golden.
-
4
Remove them from the cooking pan as soon as they're done.

Tips & Warnings
Toasted nuts have a deeper, more concentrated flavor than raw nuts.
Cook the nuts only until they start to turn golden and parts of them still appear raw; they should smell toasty, though. Don't let them get any darker than light-brown or they won't taste good.
Just about any edible nut can be toasted, including peanuts, hazelnuts (also called filberts) walnuts, macadamias and almonds.
Nuts have high concentrations of natural oil, so it is not necessary to add oil when toasting nuts.

Thankyou for posting this How To. I want to start learning how to cook and have been watching cooking shows; they never explain how to toast nuts, but some of the shows will tell you to add toasted nuts. Thanks for the easy to understand explanation :) -

I toast nuts on my gas stovetop in a small, non-stick pan, watching the heat carefully and stirring constantly. I find this easier and faster than using the oven method. -

This is kind of silly, but I know people who do it. Place a small amount of nuts in the oven. After about 5 minutes, add the rest of the nuts, but do not blend them with the others. When you smell burning nuts, the second batch will be perfect. -
