Whether you celebrate Easter religiously or not, the Sunday celebration will likely bring back childhood memories. If you can't make it back home this year, consider sending the grandparents a homemade Easter basket for old time's sake.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Easter Basket Grass
  • Easter Greeting Cards
  • Easter Baskets
  • Easter Candies
  • Chocolate Easter Eggs
  1. Step 1

Purchase a wicker Easter basket or plain basket - forgo the plastic baskets for the grandparents, and stick to the real thing.

  2. Step 2

Fill the bottom of the basket with dried straw or Easter grass, purchased from the grocery store or a gift-wrapping store. Or make your own (see Related eHows).

  3. Step 3

Place a homemade gift within the grass that will bring the grandparents joy - a framed photo of you and your siblings, mate or family; a candle you made; or homemade soaps in the shape of Easter eggs.

  4. Step 4

Consider baking cookies (in the shape of Easter eggs) or fudge cut into tiny squares, and placing those in the basket too.

  5. Step 5

Add chocolate eggs and jelly beans to the basket for an extra treat.

  6. Step 6

Write a letter as well, recounting a story of a past Easter you shared with them or simply telling them how much you love them. Stick it in the basket.

  7. Step 7

    Decorate the basket with ribbons.

  8. Step 8

Find a box that will fit the basket without crushing it, and mail it in time for an Easter arrival.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make the basket as personal as possible - the point is to send your love, since you can't send yourself this year.
  • Avoid sending hard-boiled decorated eggs. Beautiful they may be, but consider the horror upon opening if they rot or break before they reach their destination.
