How to Find an Authorized Service Center

Rate: (0 Ratings)

You do not want to have just anyone repair or modify your purchase, and your warranty calls for repairs by a service center authorized by the manufacturer. How do you find one?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Service Manuals
  • Yellow Pages
  • File Cabinets
  • Shipping Boxes
  • Internet Access
  • Proofs Of Purchase
  • Sales Receipts
  • File Folders
Step1
Contact the store where you purchased the item. Some stores are authorized to repair selected merchandise. They can also recommend authorized service centers.
Step2
Check your local yellow pages directory. Many businesses note that they are authorized service providers in their yellow pages ads. However, if you do not feel confident with this method, review your service manual.
Step3
Check your service materials for a listing of authorized service centers.
Step4
Check the manufacturer's Web site for the locations of its authorized service centers. If this information is not available, contact its customer service department.
Step5
Ask for references from the service center before giving it your authorization to repair your property.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may have to send the product away to be serviced. If so, get as many referrals as you can so that you have options. Shipping and repair charges and the length of time it takes to make the repairs will vary.
  • If the estimated repair cost seems excessively high, get a second estimate from another authorized service center.
