Adult softball leagues are on the rise, and range in emphasis from mainly social to seriously competitive.

  1. Step 1

    Rely on word-of-mouth. Ask friends and co-workers about softball leagues.

  2. Step 2

    Contact your local parks and recreation department to inquire about adult softball leagues or programs.

  3. Step 3

    Check your local newspaper for advertisements on joining softball teams and leagues, or team tryouts.

  4. Step 4

    Contact members of organized leagues through the Internet.

  5. Step 5

    Contact local college or university team coaches to inquire about adult softball leagues.

  6. Step 6

    Contact the American Softball Association (ASA).

  7. Step 7

    Check out the National Federation Coaches Association (NFCA).

  8. Step 8

    Look at softball magazines for information on teams or leagues.

  9. Step 9

    Know what level of play you want. Leagues vary from recreational to highly competitive.

  10. Step 10

    Ask about medical and/or insurance coverage of teams or leagues.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be conscious of the general rules of fitness, particularly as you age. Warm up and cool down properly to avoid injury.

on 6/22/2008 Go to http://www.local-leagues.com. Free statistics, standings, schedules, announcements, etc. for baseball and softball leagues. You can sign up your league or search for a league near you to play in.

on 2/25/2008 post free on craig's list that you are looking to join a team. i run 4 co-ed teams year round and i find the best players on craig's list (especially female for co-ed teams) on craigh's list. it's free to post and use to find.. jersey joel in ft myers florida
