Your favorite teenager may be trying hard to be a grownup sophisticate, but you can bet your bottom jelly bean she'll be thrilled to have an Easter basket you and the bunny have put together just for her.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Egg Dye
  • Plastic Eggs
  • Socks
  • Grass Seeds
  • Leather Photo Albums
  • Photo Albums
  • Planting Containers
  • Silver Picture Frames
  • Wood Baskets
  • Easter Candies
  • Eggs
  • Jewelry
  • Gift Certificates
  • Stuffed Animals

Step1
Find a basket she'll want to use in her room after Easter has gone, whether to corral jewelry on her dresser or store out-of-season clothes at the foot of her bed. Ethnic markets, antique stores and thrift shops are chock-full of useful and unusual options.
Step2
Eschew artificial grass. Instead, plan a few weeks ahead and grow your own (see Related eHows) or use flats of wheat grass.
Step3
Add to her collection. Nearly every teenager collects something, whether it's stuffed animals, picture frames, jewelry or quirky socks. In keeping with the holiday spirit, choose things in springtime colors or with Easter motifs such as rabbits, eggs, lambs or spring flowers.
Step4
Encourage her interests. Give her a membership of her own in the local science, natural history or art museum; or a gift certificate for golf, sailing or skiing lessons (whether from you or a professional).
Step5
Cater to her budding sophistication: Tuck in a beautiful object she can display in her room now and carry with her to college and beyond. A picture frame, a tiny porcelain box in the shape of an egg, or a small leather photo album would all fit tidily into an Easter basket.
Step6
Tuck in plenty of jelly beans, marshmallow chicks, chocolate bunnies and jewel-toned eggs.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can find flats of wheat grass at most grocery, pet supply and hardware stores. Florists also sell them this time of year, but usually for a much higher price.
