How to Create Your Own Halloween Makeup

Let your ingenuity shine through by creating just about any color makeup to go with your smashing Halloween costume.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Makeup Remover
  • Soap
  • Soap
  • Bowls
  • Bowls
  • 4 drops glycerins
  • 2 tsp. solid shortenings
  • 1 tsp. white flour
  • 5 tsp. cornstarches
  1. Step 1

    Determine what color makeup you want.

  2. Step 2

    Mix together 2 tsp. solid shortening, 5 tsp. cornstarch, 1 tsp. flour and 4 drops glycerin in a bowl. Blend well.

  3. Step 3

    Add food coloring a little at a time until you get the color you want.

  4. Step 4

    Put makeup on, using only enough to cover.

  5. Step 5

    Wash makeup off with warm water and soap when your Halloween fun is over.

Tips & Warnings
  • Divide the main mixture into several smaller parts to make different colors.
  • Remember that food coloring can stain fingers and clothing.
  • Try the makeup on a small area of your skin first to test your skin's reaction.

on 11/22/2005 Craft paints contain ingredients that are not skin-safe nor fda compliant. Use facepaint. It's available in most discount stores this time of year. Play safe.
I'm a professional face painter and teach face painting. One of the most common misconceptions is that non-toxic paint is safe for skin. Not so!

on 1/15/2008 This is so easy and it works really well. For an all-green witch face, for example, simply put enough face makeup to cover your face in the palm of your hand and then slowly mix in food color until you get the color you want!
