Pontiac, a division of GM, and has built some exciting cars over the years. And while some, like the GTO, are getting quite expensive, there are others that represent a relative bargain.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Car Value Guide
  • Cars
  • Used-car Quote Requests
Step1
Look for a GTO if you want what many people consider to be the first muscle car. It was John DeLorean who came up with the idea in 1964 of dropping GM's biggest engine into an intermediate body style, and the GTO was borne.
Step2
Consider a Firebird if you want a great handling car (and a close cousin to the Camaro). These cars were first introduced in 1967.
Step3
Look for a Bonneville for the big Pontiac. The convertible is particularly elegant.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get the look and a lot of the attitude of the GTO with a Lemans, on which the GTO was based. The Tempest 2-door hardtop and convertible also represents a good value.
