If you're serious about racing go-carts, there are plenty of others serious about beating you on the track. Go-carts are more than a hobby. They are a passion for many people who make up the racing circuit and go-cart industry.

  • Driving Gloves
  • Helmets
  • Dreamcast Flag To Flag CART Racing
  • Helmets
  1. Step 1

    Visit your local racing center and track. Ask about the types of cart racing they offer.

  2. Step 2

    Watch a few races to see if go-cart racing is for you.

  3. Step 3

    Read the carting (also spelled "karting") magazines.

  4. Step 4

    Take a driving course and learn the basics of starting, stopping, maintenance, track rules, turning and safety.

  5. Step 5

    Learn about the motor sports and cart world through Briggs & Stratton's Web site.

  6. Step 6

    Study the history and rules of the sport by visiting the World Karting Web site or calling the International Karting Federation at (909) 625-5497.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful and follow the safety rules of carting so you can continue to enjoy this exciting sport.
  • Go-cart racing is a dangerous sport that can cause injury and even death.
