The show Greed was cancelled in 2000. We continue to display this page for historical interest.

No matter how Greed-y you're feeling, it initially takes teamwork to succeed at "Greed." Then you're on your own in the quest for the $2 million prize.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Luggage Sets
  • Books About Game Shows
  • Televisions
  • TV Guide
  • Airline Tickets

Step1
Audition to appear as a contestant on "Greed." (See "How to Appear on Greed" under Related eHows.)
Step2
Read any books you can find that give hints on how to win at game shows.
Step3
Watch as many episodes of "Greed" as possible. Note the types of questions asked and the most successful strategies.
Step4
Go online to a game show Web site and to find information and advice from a former contestant or avid fan.
Step5
Avoid spending a lot of time trying to figure out what your other team members might do. (They are likely to surprise you.) Your main job is to get as far as you can as a team, then look out for yourself.
Step6
Pay attention. If you concentrate too much on "buzzing in" and not on listening to the question, you could easily be distracted and give the wrong answer.
Step7
Be as aggressive as you can. Those who win at "Greed" are not afraid to challenge others to a "showdown," are comfortable about pushing ahead for the big money, and are quick on the buzzer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some prospective contestants practice hitting the "buzzer" at home while watching the actual show. Practice until you can do it as fast as the first contestant to "buzz in" on the show.
  • The qualifying question on "Greed" always has an answer that is a whole number (for example, "How many times does a women cry in her life?"), while the following questions are multiple choice.
  • Having a general knowledge of just about everything will help you as a "Greed" contestant, but there's not really anything specific you can study ahead of time to give you the edge.
  • Even though the show's format encourages you to be greedy, don't be foolish. It's better to quit and leave with some money than go home with none.
