Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Access the official "Jeopardy!" home page, Jeopardy.com, for information regarding auditions.

  2. Step 2

Choose the "Pick a Category" option and go to "Contestant FAQs."

  3. Step 3

Schedule an appointment for an audition by calling the phone number listed on the Web site. Remember that you must audition in Los Angeles. You can make the appointment up to a month ahead of your visit.

  4. Step 4

Arrive at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, slightly earlier than your appointment time. Expect the audition process to take about 90 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Take the 50-question test that is given to you as part of your audition. You will go on to the next stage of the audition only if you pass this test.

  6. Step 6

Play a mock game of "Jeopardy!" as directed. The game will be videotaped and your performance analyzed.

  7. Step 7

Wait to be notified by the show that you have been selected to appear for a taping. If you did well on the tests, you could be called anytime during the taping year or may not be selected at all, even though you're qualified. Be prepared to play a waiting game.

  8. Step 8

Keep in mind that if you don't pass the audition test, you can retake it in six months.

Tips & Warnings

  • "Jeopardy!" sometimes conducts auditions in other cities. These auditions are generally announced on the local broadcast of "Jeopardy!" Or you can click on "Contestant Search" on the official "Jeopardy!" Web site.
  • Information on "Rock & Roll Jeopardy!" is also available on the official Web site.
  • You are disqualified from appearing on "Jeopardy!" if you are under 18 years of age, have been on any other game show within the past year or have appeared on more than two other game shows within the past five years.
