Enter suburban Wisconsin in the thick of the '70s. The pants are flared, the glasses are rose-tinted, the hair is big - and that's the men.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • VCR Tapes
  • VCRs
  • Televisions
  • Internet Access

Step1
Step into Eric Forman's basement, ground zero for most of the show's activity. This is the group hangout and conference central when avoiding Eric's parents, Red and Kitty. Red (Kurtwood Smith) is constantly looking for work and trying to swallow the bitter pill that Nurse Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) is the one responsible for bringing home the bacon.
Step2
Meet Eric (Topher Grace), the good-natured anchor of the show, in love with best friend Donna and proud driver of the Vista Cruiser, one of the only sources of transportation for the whole group.
Step3
Look over the fence at Donna (Laura Prepon), Eric's girlfriend and literally the girl next door. She's sassy and smart, and she's constantly trying to figure out a balance between her antiquated-thinking father Bob (Don Stark) and her trying-to-join-the-feminist-bandwagon mother Midge (Tanya Roberts).
Step4
Laugh at the hapless Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), who looks like David Cassidy but has the I.Q. of a bottle of hairspray. He's two-timing his girlfriend Jackie with Eric's older college sister (and Farrah Fawcett wannabe) Laurie, and doesn't understand what he's doing wrong.
Step5
Sympathize with Jackie (Mila Kunis), the spoiled and controlling member of the group, who is oblivious to Kelso's missteps. She just misses the boat a lot of the time and is really into doing her hair.
Step6
Join the den of cool with Hyde (Danny Masterson), currently living in the Formans' basement. He is the epitome of '70s cool, with the mellow attitude and tinted glasses to go with it. He had feelings for Donna but bowed out when he realized how serious she and Eric were.
Step7
Check his visa: It's time to introduce Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), the exchange student. His feeble grasp of the English language makes for some hilarious misunderstandings, and his devotion to Jackie is disgustingly funny. He spends a lot of time in the basement to avoid his strange host family. He's trying to be more American and is sporting a very feathered hairdo this season.
Step8
Join the kids for a ride in the cruiser through America's dairy land. Though the decade is the '70s, the fun is timeless. And the smoking sessions in the basement, when the camera goes around the circle from face to face as they speak their stoned musings, is hilarious. Though the characters carry through, each episode is hilariously wrapped up in a half-hour of good, clean fun.
Step9
Watch "That '70s Show" on Fox, Mondays at 8 p.m.

on 11/22/2005 "Fez" is not the name of the character on "That 70's Show." It's F.E.S. and stands for foreign exchange student. The fact is, they don't know his real name.

on 3/20/2006 Fez never manages to have sex, Kelso is the group idiot, Jackie never stops talking, Donna is strong and hot, Hyde is the psychopathic cool one, Eric is the skinny teased one, Red is the evil father, Kitty is the forgiving mother, Bob is Donna's mom and is annoying, and Leo is the random hippie.
