How to Maximize Your Surfer Image

"Surfers do have an image. And I can tell you it's not 'Gidget' or 'Point Break.' Man, I hate those movies," says Timmy Reyes, O'Neill surf team rider.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sandals
  • Sports Sunglasses
  • Surfing Trunks
  • T-shirts
  1. Step 1

    Wear sandals - even in winter - and keep sand on your feet.

  2. Step 2

    Opt for surf trunks over normal shorts.

  3. Step 3

    Attend dress events that say "formal" in nice surf wear.

  4. Step 4

    Brush your hair with your hand when you get out of the water and let it air dry.

  5. Step 5

    Keep the crusty salt cake on your ears and face all day.

  6. Step 6

    Wear T-shirts that show off your wet-suit rash.

  7. Step 7

    Be at ease with your bloodshot eyes from sun glare and saltwater.

  8. Step 8

    Let saltwater drain out of your nose while in public places.

  9. Step 9

    Walk slowly and loosely.

  • "Surfers seem to always have surf on their mind. They don't get all wound up over little things because they're thinking about the bigger picture - like their next session," says Timmy.
