How to Get Sponsored as a Pro or Amateur Surfer

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Surf often and at different breaks to get exposure and experience in different waves.

  2. Step 2

    Enter local contests and perform well for the judges.

  3. Step 3

    Befriend a photographer who can shoot stills and ask your mom, boyfriend or girlfriend to videotape you surfing.

  4. Step 4

    Compile videotape and photos, along with a surfing résumé, and present them to surf shops and surf company team managers.

  5. Step 5

    Be friendly and have a positive attitude when talking to potential sponsors.
