      Fly into Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte or Virginia Beach and drive to the Cape area.

      Bring a good windbreaker for blustery days around the beach.

      Rent a house or stay in one of the many beachside hotels. Wherever you stay, make sure it has a TV and VCR in case you get rained on heavily, or bring your own games and imagination.

      Surf near the famous Hatteras Lighthouse.

      Explore other beach town hot spots like Myrtle Beach and Wrightsville.

      Golf at one of the many public courses in the Carolinas.

    I have spent several "College Vacations" in Avon, Nags Head, and other Outer Banks locations. If you are renting a house, which I recommend, try not to exceed the maximum occupancy by too much. They are awfully quick to throw people out. DO NOT drink and drive...PoPo is eager to arrest offenders.
