The mother of all spring break lakes, Havasu never fails to entertain college kids from all over the Southwest who enjoy the heat of the morning sun, the thundershowers of the afternoons, and the partying during the starry nights.

From Quick Guide: Get Away for Spring
Difficulty: Moderately challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Fly to Phoenix or Las Vegas and rent a car, or drive from southern California with a ski boat in tow.

  2. Step 2

Form a flotilla with other boats and hop from boat to boat for a progressive party on the water.

  3. Step 3

Cliff-jump into the lake water surrounded by deep red rock canyons while onlookers hoot and holler.

  4. Step 4

Rent a houseboat and camp in quiet coves far from the noise of the city, then make enough noise to rival a city with your own party.

  5. Step 5

Ride personal watercraft under the London Bridge, famous for the song in which it is "falling down, falling down." Hope it doesn't actually fall down while you ride under it.

  6. Step 6

Waterski and wakeboard on the calm waters of the early morning.

  7. Step 7

Drift in the baking sun on a rubbery inflatable while enjoying your favorite drink.

  8. Step 8

Take a side trip up the Colorado River for a rafting adventure.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you opt for a houseboat, pick up your gas, food and drinks in Lake Havasu City, then head south.
  • Driving a boat while intoxicated, just like driving a car, is dangerous and illegal.

on 3/17/2009 The city is a cesspool for corrupt cops and judges and the city council likes it. In spite of having the only judge (non-attorney at that) who was reprimanded in 2007, the city council renewed his contract after he said his court is the most profitable. He has never ruled against the LHC PD as he used to command them a short time ago and has yet to declare a conflict of interest with this.

on 9/6/2008 I don't know why my whole post did not get through....but I think enough of it did for you to get the picture. Beware of cities targeting tourist with excessive fines and no reasonable way to defend yourself. There are much better places to play than Lake Havasucks!
