  2. Step 2

    Study courses given at colleges, universities and specialty schools for courses in financial planning.

  3. Step 3

    Talk to several financial planners and ask them how they got their start in the business and where they recieved their education from.

  4. Step 4

    Search the internet under "Financial Planning" for a list of resources for information on becoming a financial planner.
