See if you have received e-mail from PayPal.com, TransPoint, CheckFree or another e-payment company.
Step3
Note the name and e-mail address of the sender, reason for payment and amount of payment.
Step4
Fill out the form attached to the e-mail. Even if you aren't registered with the company sending the check, but PayPal.com, for example, won't release money to your account until you complete and submit the form.
Step5
Indicate where you want the money sent. It can be directed to a bank account or credited to a charge card account. You also can ask that a paper check be mailed to you. Another alternative is to leave the money on account with the company that sent you the e-mail.
Step6
Print a copy of the e-mail and keep it in your files, or store an electronic copy on a disk with your other financial records.
Step7
Send the completed e-mail form back to the company (PayPal.com, TransPoint, etc.).
Step8
Check your bank account or credit card balance in about a week - if you asked that one of them be credited.
Step9
Ensure that the proper amount of money was channeled to the account.
Tips & Warnings
Consider leaving the money on account with the Internet company that sent the check. You'll be able to draw on the account to pay your own bills electronically.
It may take a week from the time that you request payment to the time that your account is credited. Be careful not to spend the money until you know for sure that it has arrived.
