Step 1
Start your inspection at the top and work your way down. Make sure the guide rail is firmly attached, straight and not damaged.

Check each of the rollers mounted in the top of the door sections. The rollers should be round with no excessive wear. They should be free-moving and set at a common height. You can pick up replacement rollers at most hardware stores or home improvement centers.

Make sure that all hinges are securely attached, undamaged and well-oiled. Any light lubricating oil will work. Damaged hinges can be replaced with parts purchased from any source that carries the doors.

Step 4
Give the hinge pins a quick inspection. They should be firmly seated and evenly spaced, both top and bottom. If they are out of alignment, there are screws that can be loosened on the top hinge to allow you to change their placement. The top hinge pin is also spring-loaded, which allows you to lift the bottom pin and adjust its position.
