How to Apply Special Effects in PhotoDeluxe

PhotoDeluxe comes with a selection of unusual and artistic effects, called filters, that you can use to enhance your photographs. You can create glowing edges, make your photographs appear hand-colored, and more. These instructions apply to PhotoDeluxe 2.0 for Windows.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open the photo you want to work on.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the Special Effects button. A group of special effects icons appears.

  3. Step 3

    Decide on your special effect, then click on that effect's tab.

  4. Step 4

    Follow the instructions for that effect.

  5. Step 5

    Click Done.

  6. Step 6

    If you are not satisfied with the results, click Undo from the Edit tab.

  7. Step 7

    When you're ready, save your photo.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want to apply the special effect to one area of the photograph, but not the whole image, first select that area before you apply the filter. Use one of the selection tools.
  • You can also access special effects by clicking on the Advanced button.
  • Adding special effects increases the size of your file. This is a consideration if it is to be used on the Web or on a storage medium with limited space available.
