Use Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0 to change color photos to black and white, just like magic.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Open your color photo in Adobe PhotoDeluxe.

  2. Step 2

Open the File menu and select Send To, then Grayscale File.

  3. Step 3

Name and save your photo as a new file.

Tips & Warnings
  • Black-and-white photographs are called "gray scale" because they include 256 shades of gray.
  • You could also change your image to black and white by clicking on the Advanced tab, then on the Effects tab, and finally on the Color to BW button.
  • Once a picture has been converted to gray scale, the color cannot be restored. Either work from a copy or save the gray-scale version as a new document to avoid overwriting the original photograph.
