You can copy one or more parts of a photograph in Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0, then paste the copied component to a different location in the same image, or add it to a different image.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open your photograph in PhotoDeluxe.

  2. Step 2

Open the Select menu and choose Selection Tools.

  3. Step 3

Choose a tool to select the area you want to copy (such as a rectangle, circle or polygon).

  4. Step 4

Use the tool to mark out the area you want to copy.

  5. Step 5

Click on the Edit menu, then click Copy. The selected material is now copied to your Clipboard.

  6. Step 6

If you want to paste the area into the same photograph, skip to step 8. Otherwise, open the File menu and select Preferences. Make sure that Allow Multiple Documents is active.

  7. Step 7

Open the photograph that is to receive the pasted material.

  8. Step 8

From the Edit menu, click Paste. The copied selection appears in a new layer.

  9. Step 9

Select the layer, then drag the handles to resize the copied material.

  10. Step 10

Drag the copied material to the place you want it to go.

  11. Step 11

    Save your file.

Tips & Warnings
  • The copied selection contains the same number of pixels as the original (that is, it's the same size).
  • You can also copy layers.
  • You can paste a selection directly into another selection by using the Paste Into command on the Edit menu.
  • Image distortions can appear if the source file's resolution is different from the target file's.
