QuarkXPress 3.3 and 4.0 for Macintosh make it easy to create a text box in any Quark document. Drawing a text box gives control in positioning the document's text. Windows instructions may vary slightly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • QuarkXPress (Mac)
  • QuarkXPress (Windows)

Step1
Select the Content tool, then select the Text Box tool.
Step2
Position the cursor, which now looks like crosshairs, on the page where you want to begin drawing the text box.
Step3
Press and hold the mouse button (left button Windows) and then drag downward and to the right to form the text box.
Step4
Release the mouse button when the text box is your preferred size.
Step5
Begin typing; you will see the text cursor blinking in the text box.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use the Item tool to draw a text box, but you will have to select the Content tool to enter text in the text box.
