How to Create and Resize a Picture Box in QuarkXPress

QuarkXPress provides a way for you to create and resize picture boxes for your QuarkXPress 3.3 or 4.0 documents for Macintosh. You may need to adjust picture box sizes as you adjust your document's page layout, or you may decide you need to create additional picture boxes as your document grows and changes. Windows instructions may vary slightly.

Things You'll Need:

  • QuarkXPress (Mac)
  • QuarkXPress (Windows)

    Create a Picture Box

  1. Step 1

    Select one of the four picture box tools from the Tool palette: rectangle, rounded-corner, oval, and Bézier.

  2. Step 2

    Position the cursor, which now looks like a crosshair, in the area where you want to begin drawing the picture box.

  3. Step 3

    Depress the mouse button (left button Windows) and drag downward and to the right until the picture box is the size you want and then let go of the mouse button.

  4. Resize a Picture Box

  5. Step 1

    Use the Item tool or the Content tool to select the picture box you want to resize.

  6. Step 2

    Go to the Item menu and select Modify.

  7. Step 3

    Enter the new width and height in inches inside the Picture Box Specifications window.
