QuarkXPress provides a way for you to create and resize picture boxes for your QuarkXPress 3.3 or 4.0 documents for Macintosh. You may need to adjust picture box sizes as you adjust your document's page layout, or you may decide you need to create additional picture boxes as your document grows and changes. Windows instructions may vary slightly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • QuarkXPress (Mac)
  • QuarkXPress (Windows)

Create a Picture Box

Step1
Select one of the four picture box tools from the Tool palette: rectangle, rounded-corner, oval, and Bézier.
Step2
Position the cursor, which now looks like a crosshair, in the area where you want to begin drawing the picture box.
Step3
Depress the mouse button (left button Windows) and drag downward and to the right until the picture box is the size you want and then let go of the mouse button.

Resize a Picture Box

Step1
Use the Item tool or the Content tool to select the picture box you want to resize.
Step2
Go to the Item menu and select Modify.
Step3
Enter the new width and height in inches inside the Picture Box Specifications window.
