QuarkXPress 3.3 and 4.0 for Macintosh provide six different page views of your Quark documents, so you can select the view that works best for you. Windows instructions may vary slightly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • QuarkXPress (Mac)
  • QuarkXPress (Windows)

Step1
Go the View menu and select a view: Fit in Window, 50%, 75%, Actual Size, 200% or Thumbnails.
Step2
Select Fit in Window to have the entire page displayed on your screen. You may not be able to read any or all of the text in this view, but it will give you a sense of the overall page layout.
Step3
Choose 50%, 75% or Actual Size as desired.
Step4
Select 200% to view the page at 200 percent of its normal size. This view is especially helpful with small text and detailed information.
Step5
Select Thumbnails to view more than one page at a time. This view will give you a sense of the overall document layout.

Tips & Warnings

  • Familiarize yourself with each view. You may want to use different views at various points in the document development cycle.
