How to Apply Color to a Line in QuarkXPress

Color, when applied judiciously to a QuarkXPress 3.3 or 4.0 for Macintosh document, can enhance a page's appearance and make the information it contains easier to understand. Windows instructions may vary slightly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • QuarkXPress (Mac)
  • QuarkXPress (Windows)

Step1
Use the Item tool to select the line you want to add color to.
Step2
Go to the Style menu and select Color.
Step3
Select the color you want to apply from the pallette.
Step4
Go to the Style menu and select Width, then select a line width.
Step5
Choose Endcaps from the Style menu, then select the type of endcap you want for this line.
Step6
Click the Style menu again and select Shade, then select the percentage of the color to use for this line.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can view pending changes in the document each time you make a selection in the Style menu.
