How to Apply Background Color to a Box in QuarkXPress

QuarkXPress 3.3 or 4.0 for Macintosh provides terrific features that allow you to apply background color to a text box. This can enhance the appearance of your document. Windows instructions may vary slightly.

Things You'll Need:

• QuarkXPress (Mac)
• QuarkXPress (Windows)

1. Use the Pointer tool to select the text box.

2. Go to the Item menu and select Modify.

3. Select the background color you want in the Background section of the text box's specifications window.

4. Select the percentage of the color you want in the Shade section.

5. Click OK.

Tips & Warnings

• Use a light or pastel color so the background remains background and the text is clear and easy to read.
