Quickly make images smaller or larger using this handy Dreamweaver 3.0 tip.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Start the Dreamweaver program and locate the page containing the image.
Step2
Click on the image to select it.
Step3
Resize the image automatically by dragging one of the corner handles until the image is the desired size.
Step4
Resize the image manually by opening the Window menu and choosing Properties or by simultaneously pressing the Control and F3 buttons on your keyboard.
Step5
Change the width and height of the image in the box that appears. Make any other property changes to the image that you want.
Step6
Save the file and choose Preview in Browser from the File menu.

Tips & Warnings

  • To retain the image's aspect ratio (all corners remain the same), press and hold the Shift key while dragging and resizing.
  • To return an image to its original size, open the Image Properties box and click once on the underlined W and H keys, which represent the Width and Height. The image will return to its original size.
  • Image editors such as Paint Shop Pro or GIF Cruncher allow you to reduce the image size and the file size at the same time. For major resizing, use an image-editing program.
  • You can make large images smaller without much pixel distortion, but making small images larger can create a distortion.
