How to Insert a Line Break on a Web Page With Dreamweaver

A line break separates text without creating a new paragraph. You might use a line break to fix a bad wrap of text from one line to the next, or to set off a line of text by itself. These instructions are for Dreamweaver 3.0.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Start the Dreamweaver program. Locate and open the page to be edited.
Step2
Position the cursor where the line break will be located.
Step3
Open the Insert menu and choose Line Break, or press Shift+Enter.
Step4
Save the page when finished.
Step5
Select Preview in Browser from the File menu to see what the page will look like.

Tips & Warnings

  • To start a new paragraph, simply press Enter where you want the new paragraph to begin.
