Use Dreamweaver 3 to change the font colors of the displayed text to add style to the Web pages you have designed.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Start the Dreamweaver program and open the document to be changed.
Step2
Select the text that you want changed, if you want to change the font color of only a specific portion of the page. Open the Text menu, choose Color and select the color. Click OK.
Step3
Set the font color for the entire page by opening the Modify menu and choosing Page Properties.
Step4
Locate the Text command and click on the button next to it. Use the dropper to choose the new font color. Click OK.
Step5
Save the page when finished and preview it by choosing Preview in Browser from the File menu.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the text is dark enough (or light enough) to show up against any background color or image you are using. Be aware that colors such as yellow and lime green are hard on the eyes and tend to turn viewers away, even when put against a complementary background.
  • Don't use too many text colors on one page; it makes your work seem busy and unprofessional. You'll probably want to stick to one color for body text and one color for display text.
  • Some browsers, especially older ones, ignore the text color command and show the text in black. Be sure that the background color or image does not obstruct dark text.
