The snap shot is a combination of the wrist shot and the slap shot, mixing power and quickness.

From Quick Guide: Roller Hockey
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Position the puck to your side or slightly behind your rear skate.

  2. Step 2

Slide your lower hand down your stick so that it is about 15 inches below your top hand.

  3. Step 3

Hold the stick with a firm grip.

  4. Step 4

Swing the stick back, about eight to 10 inches behind the puck.

  5. Step 5

Transfer your weight from your rear foot to your front foot as you swing your stick.

  6. Step 6

Swing the stick so that the blade strikes the ground just behind the puck, drags an inch or so and scoops up the puck.

  7. Step 7

Snap your wrists as the puck leaves the blade.

  8. Step 8

Follow through to about knee height, with your blade pointing to where your shot is going.

  9. Step 9

Keep your stick low after the shot. Your stick should never come in contact with another player.

  10. Step 10

Chase after your shot. After the goalie blocks a shot, the puck is often bounced loose.
