Shared borders replaces the "header and footer" functions in previous versions of FrontPage, allowing you to "share" the top, bottom and/or sides of any page with another page. This is useful for navigational bars, menus, logos and for Web pages that don't use frames. These instructions are intended for Microsoft FrontPage 2000.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Start FrontPage and open a Web. Open the Web page the border will appear on.

  2. Step 2

Create the border and save the page.

  3. Step 3

Click on the Format menu and choose Shared Borders, to automatically set all pages to use the same border. Select the borders to be shared on each page and click on the Apply to All Pages button - you will be able to change individual pages as needed. Click OK.

  4. Step 4

Right click on the page and choose Shared Borders from the menu, to add a border to each individual page. Check each border to be shared and click on the Apply to Current Page radio button. Click OK.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can edit the border at any time by opening a page the border is located on, selecting it and making any changes. Save the page when finished. The border will be automatically updated on each page.
