You're going to fall because everyone does. But knowing how to fall - and preparing properly - can mean the difference between getting back up or not.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • In-line Skate Axles
  • In-line Skate Spacers
  • In-line Skate Wheels
  • In-line Skates
  • In-line Skating Gear
  • In-line Skating Gloves
  • In-line Skating Helmets
  • In-line Skating Protective Gear Sets
  1. Step 1

Wear your padding. Kneepads, elbow pads, helmet and wrist guards are crucial to avoiding injury.

  2. Step 2

Avoid panicking when you feel you're losing your balance. Panic only makes the situation worse.

  3. Step 3

Bend your knees and crouch low. Your best chance for recovery is to lower your center of gravity as much as possible.

  4. Step 4

Aim to fall on a soft spot if you can.

  5. Step 5

Grab your arms around your knees and roll as you fall. Let your pads absorb the impact of your initial contact with the ground.

Tips & Warnings
  • Relax as you fall - tense muscles tear.
  • Remember to get low, curl up and roll with it.
  • Practice falling until it seems almost normal. Of course, wear your pads as you practice and every time you don your skates.

on 11/22/2005 You can also fall by sliding one leg under the other at a 90 degree angle and landing on the spot where your hip and butt meet.

on 11/22/2005 Fall with style! Go as fast as you can, pretend to try a move, and fall! Note that when you fall, to add more style, tumble a couple of times. Pretend you're hurt and get lots of attention!
