How to Schedule Time in the Outlook Calendar to Complete a Task

You can schedule work and completion times for new or existing tasks in Outlook 97, 98, and 2000. (But then you can't pretend you forgot about it!)

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Click the Calendar icon in Outlook's left-most pane.

  2. Step 2

    Set the calendar to the appropriate date.

  3. Step 3

    In the task list to the right of the calendar, drag the task you want to a time block in the calendar. The Appointment window will open.

  4. Step 4

    Enter additional information if desired.

  5. Step 5

    Click the Save and Close button.

Tips & Warnings
  • Schedule zero minutes to complete the task if you want to show your time as available on a network.
  • Use this Outlook feature for recurring tasks that are not scheduled far in advance (such as car oil changes).
