How to Use Lacquer Safely

Lacquer is among the shiniest finishes you can put on wood. Make sure you use it safely, as it's highly flammable.

• Metal Trash Cans With Tight-fitting Lid
• Fire Extinguishers
• Fire Extinguishers
• Lacquer
• Pollen/dust Masks

1. Be aware that lacquer fumes can build up quickly in enclosed spaces.

2. Open all of the doors and windows in your work area. But make sure the room doesn't get too cold - lacquers need to be warm to dry properly.

3. Don't mix lacquers with any other chemicals.

4. Read the label before use and follow the manufacturer's warnings and suggestions carefully.

5. Wear a respirator mask if you can't avoid being in the fumes.

6. Dispose of rags and newspapers in a closed metal can. Vapors can easily catch fire.
