Women are said to dress not for men, but for each other.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A-line Skirts
  • Women's Casual Tops
  • Women's Causal Pants
  • Women's Sandals
  • dresses and skirts

Step1
Fill in your lips with a color darker than what you would use during the day.
Step2
Try parting your hair differently, in a zigzag or oblique line, or pulling it back with a hairband crusted with shiny beads.
Step3
Layer your tops so you can toss outer layers if it gets warm inside the restaurant or bar. Try a twinset with a sweater and shell.
Step4
Keep in mind that a top with a complicated pattern or texture warrants a simple bottom, and vice versa.
Step5
Nix light-colored jeans for darker, indigo ones. Tinker with skirt and pant lengths, wearing capri pants or a skirt that cuts just below the knee.
Step6
Choose shoes to match. Clunky shoes with thick soles pair well with jeans; try teaming skirts with dainty-heeled mules.
Step7
Paint your toenails if you're wearing open-toed shoes.
Step8
Remember accessories. Try gemstone stud earrings if you have short-cropped hair. Wear a simple necklace with a scoop-neck shirt and show off your neck.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pants seem more versatile than skirts, working across a greater spectrum of casual social settings.
  • Check to see what your friends are wearing if you're concerned about under- or overdressing for the occasion.

on 9/11/2006 Many guys have asked me what I'm going to wear before the date. People can take a description of clothing many ways. I mention white jeans and a T-shirt and they come dressed in the most boring unimpressive T- shirt and jean shorts. Here I am in a cute T-shirt with a unique neckline and embroidered cropped jeans and heals. My advice: If you are wearing heels, tell them you are wearing heels and going dressy casual.

on 8/8/2006 Give your night a jazzy, upbeat, new look by dressing for yourself. A nice flowing skirt (pink or orange) with a tight, glowing, casual shirt to show off your lady curves. Do your hair with curls and lots of fullness. And have fun, enjoy being a woman!

on 11/22/2005 If you don't feel comfortable wearing a skirt, or you just don't want to look overdressed, opt for a pair of low-rise (if you can pull those off), slim fitting, dark jeans with a slight flare to balance out the hips. Pair them with a great stiletto heel (never wear clunky shoes, you'll look ridiculous), a black, low cut, V-neck top, eye-catching dangling earrings and a leather bag or beaded clutch. Avoid pastel colors or anything too whimsical, otherwise you'll look too cutesy and it will be obvious that you're trying to look younger. Go for sexy and mysterious instead.

on 11/22/2005 If you're going out to hang with friends (and your crush) then showing too much skin makes you look like a loose woman. Show that you're comfortable in your own skin, and if he doesn't like it then he's not worth your time!

on 11/22/2005 Dressing in style does not mean a 40 year old can or should dress like a 20 year old, and vice versa. Dressing inappropriately is tacky and downright scary.
