How to Add an E-mail Link to a Web Page With Dreamweaver

Use Macromedia Dreamweaver 3 to include an e-mail link on your Web page.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Start the Dreamweaver program and open the appropriate page.

  2. Step 2

    Place the cursor where the e-mail link will appear.

  3. Step 3

    Open the Insert menu and choose E-Mail Link.

  4. Step 4

    Type the text of the e-mail link (for example, "E-Mail Me!") in the first box.

  5. Step 5

    Type the e-mail address in the second box. Click OK.

  6. Step 6

    Save the page when finished.

  7. Step 7

    Preview the page by choosing Preview in Browser from the File menu. From the dialog box, choose which browser to use.

  8. Step 8

    Verify that the link is correct by clicking on it. Your e-mail program should open and prepare to send a message to the address you specified.

Tips & Warnings
  • Edit the link in HTML by selecting the link, right-clicking and choosing Edit Tag.
  • Remove the link by selecting it, right-clicking and choosing Remove Tag.
