Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Start the Dreamweaver program and open the appropriate page.

  2. Step 2

Place the cursor where the link will appear.

  3. Step 3

Type the link text or add an image to represent the link. Highlight the link words or image.

  4. Step 4

Right-click and choose Make Link from the menu that appears.

  5. Step 5

Link to another page in your site by choosing Browse and locating the page.

  6. Step 6

Link to a Web page on the Internet by typing in the URL in the bottom box. Click OK.

  7. Step 7

    Save the page when finished.

  8. Step 8

Preview the page in a Web browser by choosing Preview in Browser from the File menu. From the dialog box, choose which browser to use.

  9. Step 9

Test your links before and after you upload the page to the Internet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Change the link color by choosing Page Properties from the File menu and selecting a color. Keep in mind that not all browsers support custom link colors, so test your pages. Also, link colors should be viewable with any background, as your viewers might set custom preferences in their browsers.
  • Edit the link at any time by right-clicking and choosing Change Link from the menu.
  • Remove the link by right-clicking and choosing Remove Link from the menu. The text or image will remain but will no longer contain a link.
