How to Insert an Image on a Web Page With Dreamweaver

Use images to add flair or show products on your Web site. These instructions are for Dreamweaver 3.0.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Start the Dreamweaver program and open the appropriate page.

  2. Step 2

    Position the cursor where the image will be inserted.

  3. Step 3

    Choose Image from the Insert menu or click on the Insert Image button on Objects palette.

  4. Step 4

    Browse your hard disk to locate the image to be inserted and click OK.

  5. Step 5

    Change the image properties, such as the precise height, width, alignment, and other options, by selecting the image, then right-clicking and choosing Properties from the menu that appears.

  6. Step 6

    Select the image and drag the edge handles that appear to increase or decrease the image size.

  7. Step 7

    Save the page when finished.

  8. Step 8

    Preview the page in a Web browser by choosing Preview in Browser from the File menu. From the dialog box, choose which browser to use.

Tips & Warnings
  • Assign a link to an image with the Link option in the Image Properties dialog box. Type the URL or choose Browse for Page to locate the URL.
  • Edit the image by right-clicking and choosing Edit With from the menu. Select an image editor to use; it will open.
