How to Respond to a Meeting Request in Outlook

When you receive a meeting invitation in Microsoft Outlook 2000, you can accept it or reject it, or say that you might be able to attend.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open the e-mail meeting request.

  2. Step 2

    Check your schedule, if necessary, by clicking on the Calendar icon in Outlook's far left pane.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the Inbox icon to return to the message.

  4. Step 4

    Click on Accept, Tentative or Decline.

  5. Step 5

    Add comments to your response if you wish.

  6. Step 6

    Click on the Reply button to send the message.

Tips & Warnings
  • Drag the meeting request to the Calendar icon in the left-hand window to open a meeting window that contains the details from the e-mail message. Click Save and Close to add the meeting to your schedule.
