When you open a new project in Premiere 4, three sound (audio) tracks appear in the Construction window. This allows you to incorporate three sources of sound - for example, you might want to use the sound that was recorded with the video, plus background music and a voiceover. For many projects, three sound tracks are sufficient. However, if you want to add additional sound effects, you can create extra sound tracks in your Construction window.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe Premiere
  1. Step 1

    Open or create a project.

  2. Step 2

Activate the Construction window by clicking on it.

  3. Step 3

Open the Project menu and select Add/Delete Tracks. A window opens.

  4. Step 4

Enter the total number of audio tracks that you want your project to contain.

  5. Step 5

    Click OK.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can delete audio tracks the same way. In this case, Premiere deletes the highest numbered track first, so you will want to relocate your audio clips to a lower numbered track before performing the deletion.
  • It is best to use the same number of audio and video tracks. Otherwise, it can be confusing when you are working with linked clips.
