How to Title a Movie in Premiere

Now your audience doesn't have to guess which family event your video has documented - you can tell them with a separate title frame. These instructions use Adobe Premiere 4 for Windows.

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe Premiere
  1. Step 1

    Click on the File menu, then New, then Title. A window appears.

  2. Step 2

    Use the tools on the palette to enter text and shapes, and to color them the way you want.

  3. Step 3

    With the Title window active, click on Window menu, then on Title Window Options.

  4. Step 4

    Select your size and background color. Click for opaque if desired. Click OK.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the File menu, then on Save. A window opens.

  6. Step 6

    Name and save your title.

  7. Step 7

    Drag your title from the Title window to the Construction window. It has a default duration of one second.

  8. Step 8

    Position your title at the beginning of the movie.

Tips & Warnings
  • To superimpose a title over a frame, drag the title into the Superimpose track, then, with the clip selected, adjust the transparency options in the Clip window.
