How to Dress for a Rock Concert

Denim, black leather and rock 'n' roll are synonymous. For special concerts in a small venue, you may opt to go dressy casual, but if you're one of the thousands attending the next Smashing Pumpkins concert, break out the jeans and a leather jacket.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Leather Jackets
  • Lightweight Mens' Sweaters
  • Men's Casual Pants
  • Men's Casual Tops
  • Men's Sandals
  • Men's Shirt
  • Women's Casual Tops
  • Women's Causal Pants
  • Women's Sandals
  1. Step 1

Consider the venue. If it's small and intimate, opt for business casual. Men can pair a casual slack with a lightweight sweater; women might match a colorful knit top with a cotton slim pant.

  2. Step 2

Go for jeans if you'll be one of many in a big stadium. For variety select a colored denim such as a white, deep blue or black pair of jeans.

  3. Step 3

Men: Pair jeans with a turtleneck, striped shirt or your basic white cotton tee. Wear a belt to dress up your look. Opt for leather loafers or boots.

  4. Step 4

Women: Go flirty with a colorful stretch tee under a leather jacket, or a silk blouse buttoned low. Choose a comfortable flat or low-heeled shoe.

  5. Step 5

Bring sunscreen and sunglasses for outdoor summer gigs.

on 8/8/2006 Girls, pull your hair back for a concert especially one where it will be crammed and moshing may be involved, and prepare to sweat!

on 8/8/2006 Never wear sandals to a show, indoors or out, even if it's 120 degrees out. Especially if there's a mosh pit. Trust me - you do not want to learn this one the hard way.
