Instructions

-
1
Set the posts no more than 10 feet apart. (See "How to Install Fence Posts in Concrete.")
-
2
Install a set of straining bolts into the first post. One should be at the top of the fence, one 6 inches above ground and, if the fence will be more than 4 feet high, one in the middle.
-
-
3
Loop the straining wires through the eyes of the straining bolts and then wrap them securely around themselves with pliers.
-
4
Stretch each wire across each post. Staple the wire loosely to the posts.
-
5
Terminate the wire at the other end by running it through the eye of a straining bolt and wrapping it as you did at the beginning.
-
6
Turn the nuts on the straining bolts with a wrench to tighten the straining wires.
-
7
Fasten each end link of the fencing to the post with staples.
-
8
Pull the mesh snug and tie it to the straining wires with tie wire at 1-foot intervals.
-
9
Fasten the fencing to the far end with staples.

Tips & Warnings
Vinyl slats are available to put into the chain mesh for added privacy.
You may want to brace end and corner posts with diagonal struts for extra support.
Use a turnbuckle instead of straining bolts if the fence run is more than 200 feet.
