If an attacker tries to punch you there is something you can do other than dodge or try to block it. Why not surprise the attacker by countering with two rapid punches?
Step to your right if the attacker steps forward and punches with the left hand, and at the same time, strike at the attacker's punching arm near the elbow with your left open palm. This will block the attacker's punch away from you.
Step2
Punch to your attacker's exposed midsection with your right fist. Immediately follow with a punch to the same area with your left fist. Pull back with one arm, keeping it at your side as a guard as you punch with the other.
Step3
Run away as the attacker struggles to recover.
